Bjoern von Siemens is a managing director and 25% shareholder of S-CAPE GmbH and S-CAPE sales & service GmbH (www.s-cape.com), which specialize in the digital integration of operating rooms in hospitals. With over 4700 hardware and software installations in over 1000 hospitals in 42 countries, S-CAPE has a leading market position in a growing niche market. Bjoern is also a co-founder of Surgical Intelligence Holding GmbH (“SI”, formerly K v S Beteiligung GmbH), a growth equity firm headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with offices in Munich, Germany. SI has a committed capital of approximately EUR 30 million from a group of high-net worth individuals and successful entrepreneurs from Europe and the US, and focuses on acquisition and rapid internationalization of one or several associated differentiated technology companies from Germany. Prior to founding SI, Bjoern was active as an investor and advisor for young technology and media ventures. As such, Bjoern owns interests in and/or serves on the advisory board of several small to medium sized technology and consumer companies out of the US and Germany, such as rescale Ltd (www.rescale.com), Novihum Technologies GmbH (www.novihum.de), adoreme Ltd (www.adoreme.com/l1), Vallure GmbH (www.vallurevodka.com), Vi Healthy Living Ltd (http://beeme.co.uk) and Ivy Connect Ltd (www.ivyconnect.com). Previously, Bjoern worked as a project leader at the University of St. Gallen, coordinating a research project on behavior of successful business owners (winners of E & Y Entrepreneur of the Year award), and publishing the results in leading research journals, such as the Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice and ISBJ. He has also published with Harvard Business School faculty on topics such as entrepreneurial history and entrepreneurial effectiveness. Prior to his engagements as an entrepreneur and investor, Bjoern advised corporate clients through the Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company. He developed expertise in PE at Droege Group in New York and business development at Siemens AG in Singapore. Bjoern is a speaker at leading academic institutions, such as the National University of Singapore, University of Maastricht, Harvard University and the University of St. Gallen. He is a regular delegate and lecturer at conferences such as Maastricht Entrepreneurship Week, Monaco Media Forum, the Abu Dhabi Media Forum, German Conference at Harvard, and others.
